Here is something I was also wondering could I utilize the AUX on the sub
receiver with the MFJ 1026 either along side the KXV3A in out connections?
The reason for asking this is I use diversity receive and was not sure if I
could incorporate the MFJ unit as well?
Thanks

Good morning,
I have read some posts on using the KXV3A's Rec out and Rec in ports along side
the MFJ 1026 noise canceling unit. There is a relay that activates during
transmit and receive in the K3. Apparently the MFJ's T/R switching is not good
as the KXV3A's. Just wanted to know the exact
The KXV3 has an RX IN and RX OUT connector. When the K3's RX ANT button is
pushed, the
line from the K3's t/r switch to the receiver input is connected to the RX OUT
connector,
and the RX IN connector goes to the the receiver input.
Therefore, you connect a separate noise antenna to the
That great Vic thanks very much, one last question...Am I able to use the
MFJ's internal antenna with this setup or do I have to hook up via the ext
receiving antenna only on the MFJ unit?
Thanks

You can use the built-in whip or you can connect an external noise antenna.
Just don't
make it resonant or put it too close to the transmitting antenna if you run
high power!

Thanks again Vic, no problem with power here it's always QRP or max 10 watts.

Personally I didn't find the built-in whip to be any use at all. But YMMV.

Julian,
It can be useful if you have a noise source right in the shack, like a
computer. I used a
short dipole installed near the power drop to my house, where most of the noise
seemed to
be coming from.
