As there is not even a block diagram published, I don't know the answer,
but ideally one would not want baseband analogue audio anywhere in the
path, so one would not want a sound card, integrated or not, but rather
direct access to a digital feed from the DSP.

Yes, same as the USB CAT and sound card for the K3S so you will just
need a usb cable to your computer. Standard drivers so no need for a
driver disk like some other radios.

the K4 will connect with a USB cable to your PC, you will not need a
Signalink. It will have a much better soundcard than the Signalink
provides. Since the K4 manuals are now online, you can download the
PDF and see for yourself.
FWIW .. you don't need the Signalink with the KX3,
