Hi, Jim- Th reason for the larger enclosure is that a lot of ops prefer to remote the KPA100 together with the KAT100-2. This of course requires the larger area afforded by an EC2 external enclosure which can be purchased separately. The KAT100-2 kit slips inside the lower part of the EC2 encl
