Thanks Joe, I have the cbl-yne and looks like it will work OK.
I also have a kpa500 to work with the kat500. These with the ftdx10 is a
completely new station for me and is a majordownsize but hopefully easier to
maintain.

Your indignation is completely misplaced. Read the thread title. He's
trying to interface to a KAT500, and last I checked Elecraft makes those.

To which connector did your KAT500/FTdx1200 tuner cable attach?
The Tuner jacks are the same on both FTdx1200 and FTdx10 as are
the "Linear" jacks.
