I send Bob's statement ! You'll have a lot of fun with it. If there is only
one thing that I would recommend, it would be getting good ear buds or
headset. The audio output is light and I find my volume control
Look at the db/mW ratings on the back before buying earbuds. For
example, 106db/mW is the $10 Sony MDR series that Elecraft recommends.
There are some Sony 103dB/mW ones as well that might be OK, but they are
actually more expensive. There are Phillips and other brands in the 96
db/mW range

the past couple months, I am considering purchasing a KX1 in the near
future. I'm basically interested in it as a first real CW rig (other
than the 40m Rock-Mite I've built and the SW+ 40m that is in the mail to
me soon
