I bought the Degen 1103 from that supplier on eBay, and it has many nice
features. But I notice a lot of audio distortion, especially at low volume.
Is my radio unique in this regard? The vendor was of no help - he suggested
that I do a reset which did not change anything.

Just though I'd pass this info on to the list. I'd been looking for a little
wide range receiver to take along with the K1 while camping so that I could
hear some SW and SSB/CW on bands that the K1 didn't cover. Found it!

I saw a review on this some time ago...I *think* it was the same
one...and it seemed to indicate that tuning SSB/CW was a bit strange
in that you could only program SSB/CW reception in one particular bank
of memories or something strange of that nature, and you couldn't
switch modes
