Together with my KX3 (#29) I also ordered “Proset-K2 Boom Headset For the
KX3/K3/ K2 (Heil iC element)”.
Now I need help to connect ProSet-K2 to KX3. Phone connection is OK but when I
connect the microphone connector to MIC (mono connector) KX3 starts
transmitting.
Any help would be
Go into the menu, and set MIC BTN to OFF. see page 37 of the manual for
explanation of this setting.

Hi all,
I am thinking about replacing the IC Mic in the Proset K2 with a HC-4.
My questing: Can I do this without any aditional things? Just solder out
the IC and solder in the HC-4? Or isn't it that simple? Of course with
no bias then...
However if it is that simple, what do you guys think?
Has anyone in the UK/EU a Proset-K2 they would like to sell? If so I would
appreciate hearing from you offlist.

Wondering how many of you are using the ProSet-K2 boom headset sold on the
Elecraft site? It is a nice microphone solution? Any of you have another
preference for nice sounding microphone for your K2? Any opinions are
welcome!

I don't know the difference for the K2 version, but I use the ProSet
Plus with adapter for Kenwood microphone as my K2 is wired for Kenwood
type configuration. I've used it for ARRL FD contest as the SSB station
at our FD site during the last two years and we've done quite well.
