Hi Glenn,

I would not suggest to buy your Elecraft in Europe, the prices are very much higher then when you buy direct form Elecraft USA. The procedure is very simple, I used it several times. Just fill in the on-line form at the Elecraft site, pay by credit card and after about 2 weeks the mailman delevers your package. You pay him the costs to get it in the EU (about EUR 15 in Holland) and the VAT (19 % in Holland). I used US Parcel Service, a complete K2 costs about US$ 50 transport costs.

Greetings, Gerard PA1GP.

Hi all,

I'm new to this list and looking into building my own K2.
This evening I was browsing the European distributor's online shop as I was getting ready to order the parts I thought were necessary. One of the options offered on the page is the firmware update, valued at 45,00 EUR. Is this only necessary for older K2 models or is it necessary to order this upgrade even with a brand new kit?

Thanks for shedding a light on this subject. I can't wait to start building this baby...
