Not much help Ken, but thanks for the reply.

Bad solder joint was my first thought.  I really need help with the power up
sequence so I can scope out the problem.

I have already checked the front panel, both visually and with an accurate
ohm meter from the processor to the board.  The connections to the processor
chip socket are mostly hidden under the display, and are not visible, so I
have metered out the connections from the processor pins to the board land
patterns.  All connections are at or very near 0 ohms.

If someone can lead me thru the power up sequence it would be helpful to me.

I am not a novice to trouble shooting, but need to at least have information
on just what is SUPPOSED to be happening.
