I found that downloading and using Ham Radio Deluxe (HRD) allows you to change bands and modes with just the click of your mouse. Pretty neat software in my opinion. It is freeware and deserves the support of the ham community. For those not using a computer well I guess you can use direct input but that makes you push more buttons OR you can put various frequencies in memory and select from memory without "stepping" through the bands.
