I could be wrong but I think Dohn's problem is due to a faulty switch in the
headphone jack which if stuck 'open' prevents audio getting to the speaker
circuits.

I kind of figured that. However, I think the problem lies in the front
headphone jack anyway. At least I can receive some audio for now by wearing
my headphones. If I unplug them though, there is no audio through the
speaker.
I think a swap out of the headphone jack is going to solve the prob
