I was surprised that they do not have 500hz 8 pole.

Wrong - you must enter the offset frequency.
Related - what is true is that you do not need matched filters in the
main and the subRX for Diversity reception with the new synthesizers.
There are plots on the Elecraft website showing the filter response. I
don't recall if the 500 Hz
This has to do with the synthesizer boards. I believe the answer is that you
don’t need to match them with the new synthesizers. You may need to still enter
the offsets, however.

them on new site.
Eight pole filters have a metal can enclosing them. The five pole filters are
just exposed PC boards.
I think I have offsets set on my K3S for the 200 Hz filters.
