Propagation for St Patricks Day was absolutely abysmal and our normal Net
Control Station Eric WB9JNZ must have had a premonition and had other
commitments today. With relay help from Roger N4NRW and even John N6JW bicycle
mobile we were able to log 15 check ins. Thanks Roger and John!
The mics work. My problem was a burst of noise when the rig went into
transmit.
It appears re-seating the USB cable in the back of the radio has cured
the problem. It did not appear to be lose. And the noise would appear
even if I was using the VOX or PTT switch or the internal DVR. In

(measured at TP3). The VFO frequency is at TP1 and should be quite near
8913 kHz when tuned to 4000kHz.

never putting batteries into the radio. I have seen too many products
destroyed over the years by defective batteries. In addition, splitting the

by using Y cables to get data to all of them. So finally decided to
change over to USB 100% which I did but now using the CBLP3Y cable on
the K3S/P3 combo I am still going to need some kind of Y connection
