[Elecraft] K2 RF Output...SOLVED

2021-08-12 Thread jerry
Well, that was easy. With the help of Don w3fpr, of course. Turns out that the internal wattmeter in the KPA100 was giving bad info to the K2. It was reporting about half the actual wattage. A quick tweak of R26 ( and R27 to match ) fixed it up. - Jerry KF6VB On

So - I figured - if something on the KPA100 is drawing excess current, and not really doing anything with it, it must be making heat, right? I powered up the radio through the barrel connector, left the KPA100 connected, set it to "tune" at minimum power and just left it for a while. Then

Jerry, Are you measuring the power output with an external wattmeter?  Or are you depending on the power setting in the base K2.  Use an external wattmeter while troubleshooting this problem and a dummy load (not an antenna) connected to the wattmeter. The K2 power will fold back when the

Carter, Check/replug and check again the RJ45 plug on the back of the KXPA100.  It must be locked in place.  You should hear a light click as it is fully seated in its socket. 73, Don W3FPR On 8/12/2021 12:42 PM, Carter Craigie wrote: My problems all started when I moved my Elecraft KX3,

Have you checked the voltage at the lower set of PowerPoles with the amp turned on? I've seen issues with bad PowerPole connectors in the past. Maybe something happened to them in the move. 73 Lyn, W0LEN -Original Message- From: elecraft-boun...@mailman.qth.net

[Elecraft] Help Needed for KPA100 Amplifier

My problems all started when I moved my Elecraft KX3, PX3, and the ASTRON RS-35A PS from the garage upstairs to the second floor. At first I noticed that my Amp would put out only about 70-80 Watts. Then the output went lower and lower until the Amp would not turn on. See below. Here follows

[Elecraft] Measuring eBay KTCXO-3 PHASE NOISE

2021-08-12 Thread Andy Durbin
"I just bought one of these Chinese knock-offs on eBay.  I haven't opened it - it arrived today.  Is someone willing to try it out and measure the phase noise in their otherwise properly working K3s?" I don't know if you are familiar with Mark, W7MLG's, measurements on the Kenwood TS-590 TCXO.
