Hello,
just for a test: declare the 6kHz filter (if installed) to be a 2.8 kHz
filter (FLx BW) and then
set FLTX SB to that filter. Enjoy the great TX-sound !

Hello Joe,
i have the same problem here. At first there was always full power out at

also the swr-bridge in the KAT. After replacing
the diodes i have the same problem like you now, will fix it in my next

Hello Dick,
if i don`t get wrong, Wayne mentioned a new transverter module for the K3
wich offers something for the

i programmed a macro to do this and also switch to TX-mode, the 2nd macro
restores my TX-EQ settings:

i am a lucky owner of a K3 since 2 years. I have had no experience with

should i say- i will never give them away. In my opinion,

Hi Oliver,
i think there is a big misunderstanding how NR works. NR is not able to
conjure a voice out of the dark.
If a signal is not readable without NR, you won`t have luck with NR enabled.
It only makes it more comfortable to listen to.

Is there a kind of temperature control which protect the transverter from

Hi group,
i observed a strange behaviour regading the power-setting in AM mode.
When i switch to FM, transmit with 100W, switch to AM and press PTT again
the K3 produces 100W dead-key.
When i then adjust the power from 100W to 99W and back again to 100W it
delivers the expected level of 25W
Wow,
these are very confusing answers. I have had the same question and talked to
Lyle (the DSP Guru).
But now to your questions:
1. Does the DVR playback audio really pass through TX EQ and audio
compression before being transmitted?
YES, IT DOES !!!
2. If so, why does it sound so
Hi John,
thanks for clarification. But i think he meant the adjustment of levels
(KDVR3) for on the air playback.
These levels are NOT adjustable, for the monitoring in the headphones or
speakers you are right.

I would expect that the small arrow on the right side would stay at the

i have had measured the K3 with Spectogram with the same results like you

The Sennheiser Headset PC-151 with the K3 is a outstanding combination. It is
cheap and sounds great.
Even for those who transmit on AM, it produces a studio quality sound.

Hi Phil,
same results here. Sometimes i work AM on 80m and i get outstanding reports

I use a headset from Sennheiser, the TX-EQ and a tube amplifier. 100W with

Hello,
from my point of view the K3 is one of the best sounding radios on AM and
SSB.
But i observed a lack of quality on FM-the sound is very thin compared to AM

It seems that the DSP cuts out the range from 400 to 2700Hz (uuh!).
Measured with my analyzer, i can send those graphs to

Hello Lyle,
that makes sense. Here in Germany CTCSS is not so important, we use the
1750Hz Tone to key up our repeaters. It would be a nice feature if the user
could decide by himself if he want to hear down to 0Hz on FM. Maybe a switch
in the menu could solve this. Or adjustable bw like in
