Working on my K2 (page 48) Assembly, Part II and as I'm installing the
wad of 1/4 watt resistors, I have been measuring them after
installation.
R6 and R8 are both listed as 100 ohm resistors (BRN-BLK-BRN), but
after installation, both show 61.6 ohms on three different
DMM's..while R7
Thanks to David, Don and Gary for making me feel better this morning
about my resistors.
I have been testing each prior to installation but when came to that
group, got lazy and decided to only check them AFTER
installation...which then made me wish I hadn't gotten lazy!!! Great

As one of those asking what I'm certain are very basic questions
which seem obvious to those with eon's of experience, I would like to
present an alternate point of view to consider.

Hadn't seen this post until afterwards, but I just worked him 20M SSB
and it was one of the best signals I ran across on that band this

I am at the 40-meter transmitter alignment stage in Alignment and
Test, Part III.
It instructs me to Place the K2 into tune mode and activate the
built-in wattmeter by holding TUNE. Using the alignment tool,
adjust L1 for maximum output. And, do the same with L2, etc. etc. etc.

As I have sorted through the multiplicity of K3 related postings in
recent weeks (I was away from my computer one day and when I came back
there were 157 new K3 postings in one 24 hour period)...I am beginning
to wonder if there is life beyond the K3? Is there a real Elecraft

Thank you for the quick and snappy reply. I've noticed you are always
quite good at that.
But, if you had chosen to read beyond the surface, you would have
noticed it was a request for people who have knowledge and experience
to help with build questions, which is part of what this list
Thank you Don.
I got the peak at the earlier receiver stage.
I have also gone back over the solder joints and all the relays three
times since last night with nothing spotted. I'll comb through the

Just started on my K2, SN#6048...and am new at this process.

I am in the process of assembling my K2 #6049, and as I came to the
