Don, tnx for the answer.
Yes, the difference was small. Tnx for the info about 20 Hz, then I now

Yes I can use the FL1 (open) as both TX and RX (well of course TX is
alway
using FL1). But if I want something more

The use of a broadband noise source and an audio spectrum analyzer
application running on the computer soundcard will make K2 filter setup
easy and uncomplicated.

Hi all,
I decided to recalibrate the filters in my K2 because I noticed a small
RX-TX frequency difference which made it hard to use my NUE-PSK.
But I didn't get the calibration working...
I enter filter calibration menu. I select FL1 in open-mode. I adjust (in
RX) the BFO and watch the audio
would think that is a
required condition.

Hi group!
I want to sell my K1-2, 80 + 20 m.
It's proffessionally built, I have worked many years with electronics
mounting for the industry. I have also got an degree from a solder-course.
I built the kit in spring 2005, and after that I have
Hi all,
This is way OT, please forgive me.
I have a simple question. Can any of you living in USA help me to
register an Gmail account on Google?
To register you have to have an cellphone in USA. I think they will send
a password as a text message.
If you want to help, please contact me
Tnx a lot guys!
I have got two invitations from gmail from two of you.
I did not know they had that invitation-thing, really smart people at
Google!

Hi,
My K2 #4904 is now on air!
SSB and RS232 option is still in their bags, but the basic K2 is up and
running! (Yes, I'm pretty proud of myself ;-)
I tried to use my external manual tuner with it.
But that was really difficult!
As soon as I rotated a tuning-knob the K2 adjusted it's power.
My K2 survived the smoke test.
It's not aligned yet, but I can hear and transmit on all bands.
Stupid DMM, I lost some good building hours there!

Hi again,
This is not an question about my rig, it's more like a wondering...
I have made two automatic calibrations on my K2. The first one early in
the building-process and the second was the VCO linerization.
Are these processes run once and not possible to run again?
Or is there a way to
Hi gang,
My reading for Q7 base is too low, but not shorted.
I get 760 ohm...
But I should get 2.5 to 3 k ohm.
I have worked my way through the schematics.
At R62 I get zero one one side and 870 on the other.
At R60 I get 870 and 760.
The low resistance must be somwhere between R60 and Q7 base.
it at auto I get 760 ohm...
It must be different values of voltage the DMM uses to measure in auto
and manual.
OK, case closed.
I will proceed with alignement in step III
Sorry for the noice on the list

A combination of guessing and logical thinking.
In auto I get wrong reading.
In manual 10 k I get 2.7 k.
In manual 1 M I get 3 k
So it's 2 against 1...
And the two values is what to expect, the odd value is - odd...
I'll promise to post a message when the smoke has dissappeared efter I

Hi all,
A bit off topic, apologize for that.
I want to have the best performance per cost antenna for my K1 and K2.
* The antenna must be portable, but I don't need it to be a mobile
antenna. (I dont't drive and work QSO's at the same time)
* It must cover 80 - 10 m, but it's not necessary to

Look at Appendix F in the manual.
In my manual the flat side of

I agree!
I hate winding those things, but I love to veiw the result. It makes me

I have completed step 1 and all functions checked out 100%.
I have completed the 3 paragraphs of resistors and now moving onto the

stabilizer circuit board.

Hi, I'm building K2 #4904 as a follow-up to my K1.
My manual says (at page 29) Some holes in the front panel was masked...
I have no mask-tape over the holes, and there has never been any tape
over the holes. It's painted grey on both sides.
What is the purpose of masking?

Hi all,
I'm going to order a K2 in the nearest days.
I'm alreday built a K1, #1978. (If you start to build, it's hard to
stop... :-)
To the question:
I see many articles on the Net about different modifications to the K2 rig.
How is this reflecting the real wold?
Are there many of you which
