Another one of the many reasons I am an Elecraft fanboy - Their Silicon Valley

I respect your right to an opinion and right to vote with your dollars. You
represent a market segment that Elecraft May or may not choose to address. It’s
Wayne and Eric’s strategy to decide.
I for one may represent a different (slightly) younger market
Wayne,
This is sounding like a compact, speedy solution. Any clues as to when it might

Oakville ARC VE3HB (Ontario, Canada) ran an all KX2 QRP Battery Field Day this
year from a a country back yard. Lots of rain but good times.
Quite a positive education for all, esp the hardcore CW ops accustomed to 100
Watt contest stations. Ended up logging on iPads (Hamlog) syncing to a

a great device and integrates With Pignology’s excellent Hamlog Software (with
a field day mode and a Swiss Army knife of utilities.

I found a very nice, light but rugged pouch on Amazon that has some nice
features, including spots for a couple of Packtenna minis and accessories.
It’s not overly padded but rather intended to slip into your main rucksack and
not dig into you like a pelican.

I’m going with Geocache ... maybe be even a case for one of those Garmin Chirp

Andrew - WELCOME to the Elecraft community!
Like your club, I have good friends who are longtime Elecraft customers, so at
Dayton I finally took the plunge and bought a KX2. (Eric filled out my order
form himself - what a great experience)
It's an amazing unit and

I'll endorse your experience with the installation PAE's excellent heatsink for
the KX2.
I jumped into that operation with a Swiss Army knife and a set of forceps at
the hotel while at Dayton hamvention.
