Good Morning Group,
I just have share this.
Before I retired from the Navy, I was serving with the Joint Chiefs of
Staff, as one of the assistants to the communications guru, one
particularily gruff vice admiral who I'm pretty sure coined the phrase
lead, follow or get the hell out of the way,

You might try Home Depot. They periodically sell really nice lockable
aluminum cases filled with pluck-foam. I bought three for about $15 each a
couple of years ago.
Of course the locks will only keep out honest crooks. Real crooks will just
steal the case.

Hello group,
Anyone out there care to opine why I'm getting two of every message? My ISP
hasn't a clue.

Hello Group,
I'm slowly returning to active status after a very long hiatus, and I'm
starting to fill up the log. I'm not sure if the old etiquette for QSLing
still holds.
In the past, exchanging QSL cards was considered part of the hobby - sort of
a polite way to end the QSO. I know
Good Morning Group,
Here's a problem I know I shouldn't have, but cannot figure out how to
solve.
I want to run HRD (as well as it's logbook - if possible) and Spectroscope
at the same time in resizable windows, but I cannot seem to get HRD to
resize nor can I get Spectroscope to Remain on top
Gee Ron,
I'm just guessing, here, but I imagine there might be the odd ham who would
be somewhat put off being called lazy just because he chose to enjoy his
hobby his way.
And while I'm at it, starting out with a statement like that seems like a
poor way to gin up interest.

Hi Harvey,
I think the Toroid Guy offers an outstanding value. I can and have wound
Toroids and it ain't rocket science, but some of those little fellas are
beginning to challenge my aged dexterity and eyesight. Add that to the
confidence in his work and the money was (IMHO) well spent.
Tom,
Hello Group,
Well, you can add me to the list of folks who think their noise blanker is
not working.
Now I don't have a lot of noise problems, but do hear the occasional light
dimmer or neighborhood power tool.
I have tried the scratch test, but results were inconclusive.
Today I brought home
I am running wireless keyboard and mouse (both USB) and a wireless internet
connection (USB) with no problems that I have noticed.

Good Morning Group,
A question about the Hustler 6BTV (used for my K2 - so not completely off
topic).
When I replaced my old 4BTV with the 6BTV there was no mention of whether or
not to use the 6 spoke spider (yeah, should be insect) that sat beneath the
40 meter section.
Anybody doing this? I
Hi Group,
Thanks to Ron and Tom.
The E/H switch is, apparently, a method of going from E (electronic) to H
(hand) control. However, I will have to rewire the whole thing to use VOX
as the amplifier is also switched on by the hand switch.
Wiring the amplifier to run continuously would
Hello Group,
After seeing several messages about the D-104, I decided mine looked better
in the shack than on the shelf in my study, so I spent some quality time
with it this weekend.
It has the preamp built in the base, and the little schematic glued to the
base is dated 9-75 which is about

Hello Group,
Please excuse this slightly OT post.
Since my LASIK, my close up vision has tanked, and before I tackle the K2 I
need a really good swing arm magnifier - looking at the type that has a ring
fluorescent lamp around it - but that's not an absolute requirement.
I've had poor ones in
Hello Group,
I've been kinda lurking for a while and haven't seen much about power
supplies.
Is there a 'supply of choice' for the K2? It's needs are modest, and
present no difficulty, but for the 100 watt overshoes - well, that might be
a different story.
While I'm on the subject of
Hello group,
I'm not sure where else to ask this question. I can't seem to get anything
but an answering machine at the Kenwood Amateur Radio Tech support Center.
While waiting for a new K2, I would like to get on the air (after a
considerable absence) with an old (but very good) TS-820S. The
Thanks Fraser, Don Rick,
I was hoping this would be the case.
As I mentioned to Fraser, thanks to the Elecraft crew and all the users.
This whole K2/QRP thing has rekindled my enthusiasm for ham radio since
being off the air more than 25 years - 2 years as KG4TS pretty much burned
me out!
