Thanks for the comments and ideas for a K2 battery charger. This would simply be to charge the battery when away from home, so I don’t really care about RF noise. Doug, W0UHU. > Subject: Re: [Elecraft] [K2] Cheap power supply for KBT2 > > Hi Jim, > > Excellent article. I

Although you can certainly use it just for charging an SLA, one advantage of these types of chargers is they automatically go into float mode to maintain the charge and prolong the life of the battery.  This is particularly beneficial for batteries that go fairly long periods of disuse, like

Hi Jim, Excellent article. I haven't checked if it is a source of noise, but it doesn't quite matter because this is a charger, not a power supply. I only use it when I need to charge a battery, so it is OK. Best 73, Chris KM1B On Wed, Nov 24, 2021 at 2:03 PM Jim Brown wrote: > On

Hi Doug, I use this, and it seems to be working very well. When you order, make sure you specify a 14.8V (or 14.6V) model. Some reviews complain that the voltage measurement is only 12V, but mine clearly shows 14.8V on my Fluke meter.

I use a small wall wart type lead acid battery charger/maintainer as the type used for moto and lawn equipment.  I use a Battery Tender brand charger I got many years ago. You might check out their line, which starts at $45.  Similar cheaper chargers can be found on line.  I've never

Looking for ideas for a cheap 14 volt wall wart type power supply for recharging the KBT2 battery. Is there one available that has the right plug? I see lots of 12 volt and 14.4 volt chargers out there, but??? Thanks, Doug, W0UHU. __
