Hi Rich, Thanks for the replay.Yes, KDVR is not installed and I had it in “nor”. I changed to “Not Installed” and now the message has gone. I get this message randomly on my K3S and it has the DVR installed and it is set to NOR. What I have discovered, when I get the ERR DVR message and I look at the Config Firmware versions. The DVR FW version which should be 2.05 is some weird off the wall number like 0.01. The KDVR3 has/had some bad firmware that needs corrected at Elecraft. It cannot be done by the end user. Josep - If you do not have the DVR installed in your K3, go to the Config Menu and check the KDVR3 entry. It should say 'not inSt'. If it says 'nor' then turn it to 'not inSt'. Larry, Check the CONFIG menu. If it is set to KDVR3 NOR, then the K3 is expecting the KDVR3 to be installed. If it is not installed, you will receive an error. Serial number 5278 MCU 5.14FPF 1.19DSP 2.83 If I hit the config button after power up, the error goes away and doesn't return until the next power up. [Elecraft] ERR DVR
Today I lost power here at my home. When it was restored, I turned on my K3 and was greeted with the ERR DVR message. What does this mean? I do not see it listed in the Error Message list of the manual. The radio appears to be working. For LP-PAN users: I now no longer see the panadaptor signal on my PowerSDR screen, although I can still control the K3 frequency and mode from the PowerSDR screen. I wonder if this is related to the error message? Rebooting the LP_Bridge computer and LP-PAN did not cure the problem. Has anyone here run into this situation? I'm at a loss to figure out what is going on. The DVR is the Digital Voice Recorder. If you don't have one, maybe it got toggled to on with the power failure. If KDVR3 is set to nor and the KDVR3 is not installed it can cause an ERR. Probably other things can too. I have the KDVR3 installed, but I am far from expert at operating it.
