It has been suggested that I use Data A mode, and the Eq settings will not be

TX EQ is applied to the audio (in phone modes), regardless of the
source of the audio - it even applies to audio stored in the KDVR3
so yes, it does apply with line-in when in SSB mode.

It was too late to find someone to send DSSTV to, but I did some testing. I had
a LSB qso, and I switched back and forth between LSB and Data mode set for LSB.
He could not tell a difference, (though there had to be one, or else my Tx
