Yikes?! Tonight! Please join us for the QRP Barbershop tonight (Wednesday) 9PM EDT (8 PM CDT, 7 PM MDT, 6 PM PDT). If you haven't participated in this unique QRP contest before, I think you'll be surprised how much fun you can have in this 2-hour contest. The Barbershop is partly "hunt" and partly "sprint", and a little more laid back than either. Exchange is RST SPC NAME POWER (559 TX MONTY 5W) Work "barbers" (stations with 'ESE' suffix) for bonus points. We should have about half-a-dozen on duty tonight. Work customers (other stations), too. Top scorer receives some handsome wall paper. Invariably, the winner skooches past the others with a mix of both barber and customer contacts. One barber transmits at QRPp level. In recognition of the skill it takes to pull him out of the noise, a one time bonus of 2500 points is offered for working this "Crewcut" barber. This time around, the crewcut barber is Joe, K5ESE, located in Lake Wylie, SC. Look for him! For those customers working QRPp, there are additional incentives. Our unique power multiplier levels the playing field. Also, work 3 different barbers while running 1 watt or less (for the entire contest), and get a special QRPp certificate.
