I need know if I am using the right component for const of Freq Counter Probe
as described on Page 45. It calls
for a 10pF axial-lead cap. I have something that looks like a small yellow
resistor without stripes, with markings
K1G 100J and BK4 0545 is this the right component for the probe?

It sounds like you have the right one - the '100J' is the significant
marking - the '10' part is the 2 significant digits and the '0' is the
'multiplier' (number of zeros to add), so '100' means 10 pf. - similarly
'103' would mean 10,000 pf or 0.01 uf.
