Tnx to Greg AB7R and Joe W4TV for helping me troubleshoot and finally get it all going. The problem was, of course, me....the cable bundle that goes to the back of the K3 has a cable marked PC IN and PC Out. I assumed that they went into the respective IN-Line-OUT jacks on the back of the K3....wrong...after swapping those cables everything works ok. While testing ...sending CQ in BPSK-31 on quiet band, I made my first ever contact in that mode...very cool, I think I will like this BPSK thing. 50 watts to a vertical here in CX worked a 15w dipole in Tampa, FL. Another thing that I must have missed in the documentation on the DM780 is that it does NOT support FSK or BPSK-D. So must use AFSK-D or Data...
