Debugging a problem on a friend's K3.

Using an external band decoder that has pull up resistors, the BAND1 line 
output from the AUX connector is always high, and of course that is messing 
up the decoding function on about half of the bands.  The radio is working 
normally otherwise.

Reviewing the schematics, it is seen that there is a series resistor in each of 
the BANDx lines.  If that resistor were to open up, the symptoms observed 
would result.  I am not close to the radio at the moment, but intend to check 
this out.

In the meantime, has anyone seen this kind of failure, and if so, has the 
series resistor been the culprit?
