Please reply off the list. This is the only place I know that has some electronics type people that can answer a question about an Astron RS-20A I picked up. The PS regulates but has no high current draw because the equalizing resistors coming off the emitter of the pass transistors

The test test suggests a contest CQ. Probably from a automatic keyer or a contest logging program. Some contesters just letem rip until they hear a response through the keying. There was a 160M CW contest over the weekend, so that was probably from that. -- Clark B. Wierda N8CBW A friend

CQ World Wide 160m Contest was this past weekend from Z on Saturday until 1259Z on Sunday. There are contests EVERY weekend of some sort or another. Some are very specific to a particular mode or band or even geographical region. The one listed above was ONLY on 160m and ONLY CW.

Hi Everyone, I am trying to repair an Autek WM-1 meter that was hit by lighting. The lighting came through the ground return of the coax. It seemed to damage the power supply to the board that does all the work. Nothing else seems damaged except the soot and a few traces were burned off.

Lee, Mouser has them - the designation is '78L05' for the low power package and '7805' for the 1 amp version. Similar numbering is used for the low power/high power versions of most all the 78xx 3 terminal voltage regulators. With that generalization out of the way, Mouser's part number is
