Hi Bob,
Yuck!
Indeed that's what I would say also.
I for one can't stand anti-phased headphones. I once discussed that over
using stereo-headphones being fed at tip and ring and left the common
open. The comment was: No one hears that. Well I do! Splitting mono into
high and low pitched

The K3 (and I think the KX3 and K4) has a simulated stereo function
which allows you delay the audio to one channel slightly, which makes
signals seem to stand out from the noise.

I thought this was one of the stereo effects the KX3 did already.

So how about a stereo effect where the position of the signal depends on
its frequency?
Low frequencies on the left, high to the right. A linear progression
across
your head?

I'll try that. I was also thinking some kind of reverb device could be
used to insert a variable delay on one side.

If you can find one, an Orban 245 stereo synthesizer would work
perfectly for this application.

Dale,
This works by dividing the audio spectrum into several segments and
sending alternate segments to different channels! It wouldn't be much
good for CW. Interesting, though.

Hello Victor,
A quick web search turned up this inexpensive ($11) thru-hole kit that may
be worthwhile exploring.
