Yes, K2 will work with a RS232 to USB cable available at a computer shop. I
got mine locally at US$15.

No issue *but* you must connect only pins 2, 3 and 5. Connecting any
other pins from the USB converter to KIO2 could damage either the USB
converter or KIO2.

No it definitely isn't and you gotta read the manual, it's pretty
explicit about this.
