There are at least a few bits of arcana like this not in the OM. IMHO,
they're valuable features to have documented, and certainly make the
K3 a competitive value against the other brand names' best offerings.
So yes, a manual covering all the operating nuances should be edited
up to date.
Thanks Carlo. That's a monumental accomplishment. Unfortunately, it's missing
the appendix to teach me to read and write Italian. ;o)

I operate the K2 portable now and then, it is a joy to use.
In early 2009, i built K3/100 #2878, it replaced my trusty TS-850.

My K2 #5945 holds a special place in my heart :) It was a blast to
build and still fun to use.
My K3 #476 has traveled a lot with me, and is my radio of choice.
I'd still like to do a KX1 one of these days...that's one neat little radio.

I was one of the initial K2 builders (SN 20), and have built nearly
everything that Elecraft offers either for myself or others. I had 3
K2s at one time, but my fully upgraded SN 20 will never be sold (at

I built K2 #2810 as a K2/10 in August 2002, and populated it over
time. It is the most fun I've *ever* had building any kit, and I've
built quite a few... before that, Heathkits mainly. The K2 traveled
with me for quite a few years as a hotel radio and kept me off the
streets when on business

I built K3 #96, K2 #72, and K1 #44. A 2nd K2 I own was built by W5JAY, but
I've added a few things to it since.

You can do this by adjusting its position on the shaft and the degree to
which it comes in contact with the felt washer underneath it.
