I have done the benchmarks, the benchmarked applications are nautilus,
thunderbird and scratch. By the way i didnt copy the second test from
thunderbird as it gave me different number in only one execution,
however it doesnt' seem affected by prelink, but if someone wants the
thunderbird

According to these numbers, using prelink can cut linking time in half and
possibly more for bloated apps, but that improves startup times by less
than 0.01 second on the tested machine. For reference, on what machine were
the measurements
I run the benchmark on my Asus A52J (which is almost the same as a K52JB).
Here are the details:
Intel core i5 Core M430 (2.27 Ghz)
4GB DDR3 RAM
SEAGATE ST9320325AS hard disk
ATI mobility HD 4500 (512 MB RAM)
