Why must the forms be reset only after the document is fully loaded? I think it would be simplest to discard all form-related information immediately in reload(), before even requesting the file from the server, and let the renderer then incrementally rebuild the data, as if loading the document for the first time. I am however not familiar with this code, and it seems I'll need a diagram to properly understand all of the pointers between its different structures.
