Can you (setq org-export-with-broken-links t) to address some of these?
It looks like (setq org-export-with-broken-links 'mark)
will change them to [BROKEN LINK: path].
According to the docs:
This option can also be set with the OPTIONS keyword, e.g.,
"broken-links:mark".
