I should finally have a bit of time from Thursday. Meanwhile, ensure that Quicksilver is cataloguing your ~/Library/Scripts directory (I think it does this by default, but you can check the catalogue pane in the Quicksilver preferences). Have the document you wish to link to as the front document, call Quicksilver, type the name of the org-mac-protocol script in the first pane (org-link, org-remember, org-note), the second pane should show `run', so just hit return and org-mac-protocol will do its stuff. Re: [Orgmode] Re: Org-mode and Nokia N900
It should be possible to run emacs on Maemo/the n900. It's a mostly-normal normal Debian-derived GNU/Linux system. Emacs was ported to older versions of Maemo, and while it hasn't been ported yet, most likely it should be soon. I've been a bit busy with holiday related stuff, but its on my todo list to get emacs running on my n900 soon if nobody else does. I am hoping to make a d-bus interface from emacs and either bridge orgmode and maemo's builtin task / calendar system or just make a separate python scripted UI. - cwebb Óscar Fuentes writes: > Thierry Guillemin writes: > >> Hello >> >> This question comes after reading >> http://lifehacker.com/5419988/five-best-outlining-tools >> and before buying a N900... >> >> Will it be possible to install Org-mode on the N900 (only Emacs available is >> Qemacs) ? > > It seems that QEmacs has no Emacs Lisp support. [Orgmode] [org-mac-protocol] How to actually set it up and use it?
Hello list, I just moved to a MacBook, couldn't be happier and mainly because the last version of emacs compiles flawlessly and works like a charm. It's even as beatiful as other OSX apps. Great. I've been looking through Worg and found about the org-mac-protocol, and the idea of inputting stuff to my files through Quicksilver really turned me on :) Kudos to the developer ! Anyway, the docs are kind of scarce and too technical. While I could install and (I think) set it up in emacs, I can't find the way to actually use it. It just says there are some scripts vailable (apple scripts), but where do I trigger them, for example, how could I trigger them through Quicksilver ? [Orgmode] Bug: column faces based on default frame font, not current one [6.33trans (release_6.33f.92.g7dc0)]
This is complicated. Essentially, I always have two frames open (two monitors). The laptop built-in screen shows a fairly large font, and that's the default for starting Emacs, which I set something like this: (add-to-list 'default-frame-alist '(font . "-outline-Consolas-normal-r-normal-normal-17-127-96-96-c-*-iso8859-1")) (add-to-list 'initial-frame-alist '(font . "-outline-Consolas-normal-r-normal-normal-17-127-96-96-c-*-iso8859-1")) (set-frame-font "-outline-Consolas-normal-r-normal-normal-17-127-96-96-c-*-iso8859-1") These lines are all at different places in my .emacs.d mess, but before org-mode is loaded, this is all set up. However... when I'm at work, I use that frame for Gnus, and another frame, fullscreen on the other monitor, for org-mode stuff. The other frame is set up like this: (select-frame (make-frame (list (cons 'font "-raster-ProggyCleanSZ-normal-r-normal-normal-10-75-96-96-c-*-iso8859-1" So, now I jump into column mode in that frame with the very small font, and I see this (please follow the link): http://www.dropbox.com/gallery/3420586/1/Screenshots?h=0058af As you can see, org-column-title (the face for the thing across the top) seems to be in pretty good shape; it's a nice small font that matches, more or less, the font at the bottom of the screenshot which is my usual font for this frame. However, the columns themselves are the org-column face, which seems to be derived from my default font: , | Defined in `org-faces.el'. | | Family: Consolas |Foundry: unspecified | Width: unspecified | Height: 128 | Weight: normal | Slant: normal | Foreground: unspecified | Background: grey30 | Underline: nil | Overline: unspecified | Strike-through: nil |Box: unspecified |Inverse: unspecified |Stipple: unspecified | Font: unspecified |Fontset: unspecified |Inherit: unspecified ` I guess I'd expect to see org-column derive from the frame font, not the default font. org-column-title seems to do the right thing. I tried to work around this by customizing org-column to lock down the Family and so forth, but this only worked for that session, oddly enough, and besides, if I'm away from my desk in a single monitor situation, I want the big font on my laptop screen again. I tried to grasp what was going on with the faces, but I couldn't get my head around it.
