Re: [O] org-mime-htmlize gives JSON readtable error
Bit of a late response here, but if you are using ob-ipython it now uses 'jupyter' instead of 'ipython' and installing jupyter resolves the issue of random json readtable errors for me. The error would turn up in unrelated locations like org-capture as well. Cheers, -- Adrian Bradd
[O] Section on #+include keyword is missing quite some info in the org-manual.org
Hello, I was visiting the Org manual to verify if I got the :only-contents parameter of #+include keyword correct, and noticed that that info is completely missing from that section in the new org-manual.org. Reverting back to older texi, it is missing pieces like below and much more too: #+INCLUDE: "./paper.org::#theory" :only-contents t @r{Include the body of the heading with the custom id @samp{theory}} #+INCLUDE: "./paper.org::mytable" @r{Include named element.} #+INCLUDE: "./paper.org::*conclusion" :lines 1-20 @r{Include the first 20 lines of the headline named @samp{conclusion}.} If this is not intentional (looks like it's not because that feature works great and I would miss it if it did not), I can commit update to org-manual.org with that whole section restored from the past. But I am wondering if things are more serious.. how do we ensure that the org-manual.org is not missing out the useful info from the old org.texi? -- Kaushal Modi
Re: [O] newbie which LaTeX for PDF publish
I found this link below, which suggests using the TeX Live Installer https://tex.stackexchange.com/questions/1092/how-to-install-vanilla-texlive-on-debian-or-u buntu?noredirect=1&lq=1 This is my preferred method. You can choose a completely custom install or use the pre-defined packages of varying sizes (small, medium, full etc.). I usually use the medium or full, but any package is just a 'tlmgr install' away (incl. pdftex). Cheers, -- Adrian Bradd
[O] bug#32722: bug#32722: bug#32722: bug#32722: 26.1; Org-publish depend on non-free platform ?
[I sent this message a week ago but did not get a response. Could we get the discussion moving again?] [[[ To any NSA and FBI agents reading my email: please consider]]] [[[ whether defending the US Constitution against all enemies, ]]] [[[ foreign or domestic, requires you to follow Snowden's example. ]]] > As already pointed out by Nicolas Goaziou, org-mode also requires other > external stuff Those other cases may or may not be problems, depending on the situation. The ability to work with some other free software package (for instance, LaTeX0, if the user happens to use that, is no problem at all. Invoking some separate program, having no particular relationship with Emacs, is ok too if the idea is that that program does some separate job and that's what the user wants to do. However, Emacs should not try to bypass the distro's own package installation system by telling users to install things directly. Would you please show me the other cases where Org suggests loading something else? -- Dr Richard Stallman President, Free Software Foundation (https://gnu.org, https://fsf.org) Internet Hall-of-Famer (https://internethalloffame.org)
[O] Bug: Bottom align LaTeX previews [9.1.9 (release_9.1.9-65-g5e4542 @ /home/carlos/local/stow/emacs-26/share/emacs/26.1.50/lisp/org/)]
This was discussed here: https://www.reddit.com/r/emacs/comments/9ggimh/bottom_align_latex_previews_in_org_mode/ Here is a screenshot: https://i.redd.it/n83ri6campm11.png For inline previews centering is clearly suboptimal, after all text in a sentence is supposed to be bottom aligned. Currently this behavior is not configurable, you have to change the :ascent 'center property in org--format-latex-make-overlay. Emacs : GNU Emacs 26.1.50 (build 8, x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.24.1) of 2018-09-25 Package: Org mode version 9.1.9 (release_9.1.9-65-g5e4542 @ /home/carlos/local/stow/emacs-26/share/emacs/26.1.50/lisp/org/)
