Samuel, I assume that you are quite happy with org-capture Firefox
extension.

Have you managed to setup capturing text from other applications? From
my point of view all necessary moving parts have been discussed in this
or later threads. Have you assembled them to a working solution suitable
for you?

- Window manager menu item and shortcut calling
  emacsclient --eval '(org-capture nil "c")'
- Capture template that fetches X PRIMARY_SELECTION or CLIPBOARD.
- Optionally try to get formatted text and convert it from HTML to Org
using pandoc.

- Perhaps try to get window title of the active application.

What I have not tried yet is if drag API may provide more details
than X selection, but I am unsure if such workflow is suitable for you.

Probably it is better to discuss code in the context of particular
applications. Despite you wish a general approach, amount of information
exposed by applications may vary. Some code may depend on Emacs version
an I am unsure which one you are using currently.

If you want to have a (more or less) complete Emacs/Org experience, my
recommendation is that you install Termux and install Emacs in Termux.
To get a working and updated version, better install it from F-droid.

There was a thread here recently about termux and org:

Lightning detector pro is one I'd recommend once allowed to use location
all of the time and notifications get enabled. You get notified of a
lightning strike as far as 40 miles away in any direction.
You asked a very open question so I'll put a couple more here.
All_Tools has lots of capabilities you may be able to use like telling you
the room temperature and any result you get you can share by text message.
There's a rain detector app that can go nicely with lightning detector pro
too.

org-beamer-export-to-pdf generates \\\relax everywhere which makes latexmk complain

2022-10-14 Thread Guillaume MULLER

Hi,

This morning, I upgraded from Emacs 27 to Emacs 28 and to latest DoomEmacs.

Now, when I compile an org-Beamer presentation I had previously written & which
compiled perfectly, latexmk outputs an error:

! Misplaced \noalign.
\hline ->\noalign
  {\ifnum 0=`}\fi \hrule \@height \arrayrulewidth \futurelet...

l.519 \end{frame}

When I go the l.519 in the .tex file, I can see that now
org-beamer-export-to-pdf generates \\\relax everywhere instead of \\.

At least in tables, this seems to be erroneous as both latexmk & pdflatex complain and
removing the \relax in the generated ".tex" file suffice to render them compilable
again.

Is that a bug or is there something I missed?

Cheers,

Guillaume MULLER

Bug on LaTeX table export

2022-10-14 Thread Nathan Furnal
Hi all,

I think I found a bug in the latest snapshots of org. When an org-mode table is
exported to LaTeX, a `\relax` command is now added after each new line (`\\`),
before each `\hline`, this breaks LaTeX
compilation when tables are involved. I could confirm this on a small table in
a nearly empty document without any specific LaTeX class used but the one used
in org-mode.

Thanks for the help,

Nathan
