Aloha Robert,
You can set both :results silent and :exports none. The :results header
argument sets how the results of evaluation appear (or not) in the
Org-mode buffer, and the :exports argument determines what the exporter
does with the source code block.

Aloha Robert,
I've added :exports none to the example, which came from a document
about how to export LaTeX documents from Org-mode. Thanks for pointing
out that it could be used in a way that yields unexpected results.
In my usual setup I put this kind of configuration in a heading of its
own that is protected by a :noexport: tag. This works for me because I
often have notes about why things are in there and what I think they
might be doing.

Hi Nick,
Actually, your diagnosis was exactly right, as usual. The "buggy" example
came from a document meant as a tutorial.

Aloha all,
The attached patch initializes the shortn variable, uses it to add the
optional argument to \caption in two places where this wasn't
implemented, and adds a bit of documentation.
Note that the shortn variable in org-mode is already used to add an

This appears to work for tabular environments only. When I add a

e. That functionality

Another way to achieve your current use case, IIUC, which might or might
not seem easier, is to redefine \maketitle along the lines suggested by
Nick Dokos (see

Nick's got a good editorial eye: "compatible options" is probably not
correct. In the example on Worg hacks, \footnotesize is not an optional
argument to the \table environment, it is a LaTeX command whose scope is
determined by the \table environment within which it is issued. So,
instead of "One can also pass other compatible options" it would be good
to say "One can also pass LaTeX commands into the \table environment" or
something along those lines.
The entry in Worg hacks looks good to me. Thanks for taking care of
this, Suvayu.
Many thanks to Nick and Suvayu for figuring out how to get inside the
table environment from Org-mode. I can't remember how many times I
tried and failed to figure this out on my own ...

I work in Org mode and LaTeX. Ebib is integrated with both of them.
I follow an Org mode link or a LaTeX citation to the BibTeX entry in
Ebib, then open the pdf from Ebib using a link stored in the BibTeX

You'll probably want to use #+name: code1 rather than #+srcname: code1
Once you've done that, then #+call: transpose(table=code1) ought to

I'm glad to hear you enjoy writing LaTeX documents in Org mode. This is
something I enjoy, too. Org mode will soon become a much more powerful
environment for authoring LaTeX (and other) documents, when Nicolas

Aloha list,
I'm having a difficult time installing org after upgrading to emacs 24.1
:(
If I make compile, then my initialization stops with an error because a
macro in org-compat.el can't be found. If I make uncompiled, then
initialization appears to work correctly.

Aloha all,
My old code for org-finalize-agenda-hook to keep the mouse cursor from
highlighting agenda lines doesn't work after switching over to

Aloha Nicolas,
The attached patch adds a new defcustom for the toc and listof commands
that are inserted after \maketitle with the new latex exporter.
In the old exporter, the undesirable \vspace*{1cm} could be replaced
with a user-defined function. The new exporter hard codes this. The

If this code is useful, perhaps it could be checked into contrib/lisp?
Of course, it would be good to have some documentation on Worg, too.

Aloha Nicolas,
#+call: lines appear to flummox the new LaTeX exporter.
This exports as I expect:

Aloha Nicolas,
This in the org file:
(fig. [[fig:old-wood]])
exports to this in the latex file:
(fig. \ref{fig-old-wood})
I think the exporter is replacing the colon with a hyphen, which breaks
the reference.
Also, is there some way to toggle a non-breaking space, e.g.,

Aloha all,
I'm probably doing something silly here, but can't figure it out. Using
the new LaTeX exporter, and with org-entities-user defined as below,
this:
\C14 \frac12 \Omacron
exports as:
\C14 \textonehalf{} \={O}
Why isn't my C14 entity being exported correctly?
All the best,

Currently, I'm exporting with org-export-dispatch, but eventually I'll
tangle the setup into an init.el file and have a makefile that launches
emacs -q so I can be certain nothing in my .emacs has an influence.
Right now, though, I'm quite happy with the new exporter.

Two versions of the parser! Yikes, that doesn't sound good.
Links still provide a path to handle arbitrary LaTeX commands and have
them send sensible output to the different backends. They don't look so
great in the Org buffer, but that is an aesthetic issue, not functional.
Thanks, Nicolas, for the new LaTeX exporter.

Hi Greg,
The problem is that no one is maintaining ob-r.el. The author, Dan
Davison, has moved on to other things.
Eric Schulte will apply patches to ob-r.el. Perhaps you could suggest a
patch that would fix this behavior?

:results org was a synonym for :results raw, so I think "small change"
here probably means that support for the synonym was dropped.
#+begin/end_org blocks should still work with the :wrap header argument,
which hasn't been altered, IIUC.
