tex4ht is installed on most linux systems where TeX is these days, the script to invoke it is either xhlatex.sh or xhlatex depending on the installation. Let's atleast make the mechanism to export LaTeX to HTML customizable, and have xhlatex as one of the available choices --- and preferably the default.
