This is in a build from the EMACS_BASE_22 branch:
It appears that `longlines-auto-wrap' as a variable can't be set
directly - at least to no effect. I have to explicitly do (longlines-
auto-wrap 0) to turn it off.
Is there a reason why this isn't a minor mode so that M-x longlines-
More info. If, when it prompts for the password, I type the password and then
add a carriage return (using ^Q^M) at the end of the
password, then hit enter, all works as expected.
Perhaps a change in the code (emacs 21 was indent-to-left-margin),
which didn't make it to the manual.
