This prompts another question that I've wondered about -- do the physical
properties of polyamide substrates change radically w/ environment? I've
heard that water absorption is one issue, for instance. How does this
affect k, and things like dielectric withstand voltage?
I would imagine
From an EMC prospective they are all the same, because they are the same!
Kapton is a Dupont trade name for
polyamide.

Sorry. I answered too quickly. CL2 cable comes in various types including
some that are tested for smoke, such as CL2P for use in air handling spaces.

VW-1 rated wire is tested for flammability while CL-2 cable is tested for
toxic smoke emissions.

If I may ask a back to
You're being generous. I don't have that level of faith.
Especially since material category could have almost any
meaning, there being plethora of material properties
associated with polymeric materials. In the 60950
standards, for instance, a similar term, materials group,
only refers to CTI.

Greetings, all
I have a quick question about exporting to Thailand. On my country
matrix Thailand is listed as requiring CISPR22 only (no safety, etc).
Does anyone know if this is actually the case.
BTW, I have finally determined that my country matrix is not company
proprietary info, so
Does anyone of a good reference for quantifying strip line and its current
carrying capacity? Most references I have seen primarily discuss the
calculations for characteristic impedance control only.

Legally the regulations refer to appliances intended for domestic use. See
http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si1994/Uksi_19941768_en_1.htm Section 11(1)(d).
It is not uncommon for any equipment intended for connection to a domestic
power supply to have a plug fitted even if it is for professional use.
