Amund, The RoHS directive does not apply to equipment designed to be installed into equipment that is not within the scope of the directive. As such, most forms of transport, including shipping, is outside the scope and hence equipment designed to installed in ships is also outside the scope.

Amund, What an interesting question. I would start from the perspective of equipment placed on the EU market. Presumably an EU flag ship is EU owned, and therefore the electronics (even if only as an integral part of the vessel) would be procured from within the EU, and therefore would have been
