We are looking for*Product Safety Engineers*to conduct
testing/evaluation and certify electrical and mechanical products.
The position is available in three (3) locations:*Washington D.C.
Metro - Damascus, MD; Greater Cleveland - Middlefield, OH; and
Indianapolis, IN*.
**
*Duties:*
* Utilize knowledge of electrical engineering to conduct safety
and performance testing and evaluation of electrical and
mechanical products including, but not limited to, medical
devices, laboratory devices, industrial machinery and household
appliances for commercial or governmental application
* Use knowledge of electrical engineering to perform testing and
certification using published safety standards such as UL, CSA,
IEC, EN, FCC, CE, etc.
* Create and implement test procedures and test plans
* Prepare certification/test reports presenting findings and
results of testing for submission to certifying bodies in the
United States, Canada and Europe
* Communicate with customer’s engineering staff regarding the
project, including explanation of findings, status, requests for
documentation
* Report to Safety Technical Manager (bi-weekly)
* Work in conjunction with other Electrical Engineers including
Senior Safety Engineer, Senior Project Engineer and Safety Lab
Coordinator
* Review test report work that is prepared by other engineers
* Participate in Continuing Education in the area of product
safety standards and certification testing, as standards are
revised from time to time, in-house and outside training venues
*Requirements:*
* Education - BS Electrical Engineering
* Electrical Engineer - must have background in
Testing/Evaluating/Certifying electrical (and mechanical) products
* Product Safety - 2+ years experience performing Safety
Evaluations to Regulatory Standards
