Under the subclause 14.6.1 Switches, an apparatus, which under normal operating condition has power consumption exceeding 15W and/or employs a peak voltage exceeding 4 kV, shall be provided with a manually operated mechanical switch. Does anyone know the background of this requirement since it can be exempted if it is a clockradio, VCR, etc. and shed some light on to me
