We have an immediate need for an Engineering Manager in our compliance engineering group. Position Summary: Manages a group of eight to fifteen engineers and technicians. Essential Duties: * Works with Marketing and product Engineering to develop product strategies, including schedules and Regulatory requirements. * Develops the project management and technical skills of direct reports. * Manages all product Compliance efforts for new product platforms and derivative products. * Manages the Compliance status of existing products. * Manages a cost center budget. * Supports Field Sales, Applications Engineering, Marketing, Operations, all product development engineering, and Global Support * Develops, maintains and reports on metrics to show performance of department and company product compliance status. * Manages CE Mark Self-Declaration, including Declarations of Conformity and all supporting documentation. * Manages/maintains good working relationship with Agencies such as UL, CSA or other NRTL. * Other duties as assigned. Work Environment: * Some Work in a noisy and fast-paced engineering /compliance lab environment. * Also works in a standard office environment and uses general office equipment (telephone, PC, copier, fax machine, etc.). * Reports/responsible to Engineering VP; peer position to all senior engineering managers, must competently communicate with these senior positions * Must support some projects as well as manage all efforts of the department * Works under minimal supervision. Expect very little feedback regarding performance. * Overtime may be necessary in times of increased demand. Skills: * Ability to construct cross-functional compliance teams and complete programs, evaluations and approvals on schedule. * Ability to conceive appropriate architectures for new products, balancing the requirements of Regulatory requirements, cost, and markets * Ability to solve complex technical problems independently. * Ability to interact effectively with customers. * Ability to lead others. * Ability to manage multiple projects at one time. * Ability to successfully manage the Compliance requirements and conformance of new products and product types. * Ability to be creative. * Excellent program management skills. * Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. * Engineering skills.
