If you fill in the voids, take care to make sure you 'stitch' the
copper to the ground plane in multiple places. Don't leave
it floating, otherwise you'll get cross-coupling and radiated emissions
issues. Be liberal in 'stitching' it to the plane.

Darrell, one can only guess whether it is necessary to fill unused ground area.
You haven't supplied enough information to tell. If the ground is a reference
ground plane for establishing impedance anywhere then you must fill the plane.
