[PSES] Need a switch

2018-04-02 Thread Ken Javor
All,

Building a piece of test equipment for personal use. Need a switch whose
dielectric insulation can withstand 3 kVdc. It doesn¹t need to switch 3
kVdc: switching action occurs when no voltage is present. Very low current
at all times (<< 1 ampere).

When I search for switches with high voltage capability, I only find vacuum
relays. That is overkill for this application. And I don¹t want some 440
Vac contactor that is overkill as well.

Can anyone point me towards a switch with a normal operate voltage like 125
or 250 Vac but with the ability to withstand the aforesaid potential when in
steady-state mode?

All the switch does is either feed a pair of conductors with the 3 kV
between them straight through, or reverse the output for opposite polarity
operation.

Thank you,

Ken Javor

Re: [PSES] New Guide to the EMC Directive

2018-04-02 Thread Steve Leitner
Hi Edgard,

We had an Easter Egg hunt for granddaughters and niece, and celebrated my Mom’s
93rd b-day. Had a good time.

How about your family - did you go to Fairfield?

Any update on Oliver? Is he still in the hospital?

Steve
