Hi Rob,
Not sure what your equipment is, but for IT equipment, testing to S.
Korean standards at a RRA accredited test house is mandatory. S. Korea
does have a MRA in place with the US so there are accredited labs
available.

Hi,
Has anyone had experience of the EMC requirements for selling goods to
South Korea?
There is conflicting information online on what is actually required. I
always thought if you had CE and FCC covered, that would pretty much
cover you for most of the world?
Thanks
Rob.

Hi,
Silly question, but if you are testing a Class II double-insulated supply with
no earth, would you simply ignore the Common Mode parts of the test eg Surge
Immunity (Live to Ground/Neutral to Ground ignored), or is there some other
arrangement to be used?
Many thanks,

Hi,
I am trying to understand whether a test is required or not.
In EN 55103-2, RF Common Mode Immunity on Signal & Control cables has a caveat
that 'screened-cable ports as defined in the standard are deemed to comply with
the requirements for this phenomenon without testing'
The definition

Not all products have a metal case. Not all ports meet the definition of
'screened port'. Not all cables have

Hi,
Has anyone ever had problems with EMI filters supplying EMC chambers before?
When mains is applied to the filter for the chamber lights, there is
interference seen on the computer monitors outside the chamber. This happens
even if the lights are turned off in the chamber, but power
How would you treat a piece of IT equipment that had say a 10Gbit/s Ethernet
port? Do you just treat this as 10GHz, and use that as the highest clock?

Hi,
I'm trying to plan ahead for the new EMC Standards coming in next year, in
particular EN 55032 and EN 55035.
With EN 55035 still in draft form, are we likely to see that become compulsory
the same time EN 55032 does? (ie 5th March 2017?)
In addition, do we know what the Radiated Immunity
in the draft.

It is most unlikely that 55035 will be brought into mandatory effect without at
least 3 years transition. It appears that the CISPR FDIS is forecast for
October 2016, and CENELEC will for sure need time
Hi,
Is there an estimated date when EN 55035 might be released, and appear in the
OJ Harmonised Standards list?
Are there likely to be any dramatic changes? I think one of the drafts I saw
had Radiated Immunity E-field go beyond 2.7GHz with spot frequencies at higher
levels, but the other

Hi David,
I believe 'Wired Network Ports' are cables like Ethernet etc, that are over 3m
in length when used. There is also fibre-optic leads with metal shield and
antenna ports.
My opinion is HDMI and RS-232 cables would fall outside that scope for
