If your intent is to satisfy the requirements of the EU for CE marking, then your report should refer to the performance criteria specified in EN 50082-1 (or a product specific standard as applicable).
If your intent is only to do 'diagnostic' tests in accordance with a basic standard, then you can make reference to the levels and criteria stated therein. In general, you need to follow the compliance standard, not necessarily the test standard. Bob Martin ---------- From: Krzysio S To: emc-p...@ieee.org Cc: emc-p...@majordomo.ieee.org Subject: Differences in "performance criteria" List-Post: emc-pstc@listserv.ieee.org Date: Thursday, April 16, 1998 9:40AM Greetings to all, My questions concerns differences in "performance criteria" definitions during immunity testing. Example: EN 50082-1: 1992 defines 3 performance criteria (A, B and C) in section 6 while, for instance, IEC 801-4: 1988 defines 4 performance criteria (1, 2, 3 and 4) in section 8.3. Also IEC 1000-4-4: 1995 in section 9 states the same. Other basic standards (801-X, 1000-4-X) call these criteria a, b, c and d. Criteria described in generic and basic standards are different. So, what criteria should be used while 1) preparing a test report in accordance to IEC 801-4: 1988 with immunity level taken from EN 50082-1: 1992 2) preparing a test report in accordance to EN 50082-1: 1992 with test method taken from IEC 801-4: 1988? Should a report state that performance criterion is B according to, for instance, IEC 1000-4-3: 1995 and C - according to EN 50082-1: 1992? What is your practice routine? Will the revised EN 50082-1 standard take into consideration 4, the same as in basic standards criteria?
