Certification Clauses The European Commission has declared the certification clauses in ENs to be illegal. These clauses were used to extend the transition period, in some cases beyond the 'dow' of the previous edition. Any 'dow' longer than three years from 'dop' now requires agreement by the Commission. Proposals for new 'docs' are shown in the Remarks Column since none of these dates had been published in OJEC at the time of going to press. Please note that 'docs' were formerly known as 'dows'. Where national standards are mentioned in the remarks column the information derives from the certification clause and the latest information on the 'doc' should be sought.
