Re: [PSES] [EXTERNAL] [PSES] SV: [PSES] SI amendment providing UKCA label deadline extension.

2022-11-15 Thread Ryan Jazz
Dear Members,
Would like to receive confirmation that this (proposed) continued acceptance of
the CE Mark also applies to the UKCA DoCs.
Does anyone has information on this matter?
Thank you,
Sincerely,
Ryan Jazz

deadline extension.

So we carry on as before … CE mark the product and issue the (CE) EU
declaration of Conformity up to Dec. 31, 2024?

The UKCA mark and UKCA declaration of Conformity will be voluntary in addition
to the CE marking?

Best regards

The government has introduced the legislation to make it happen. The government
has a majority in parliament therefore passage of the legislation is as
certain as anything can be in politics. As it is right now, CE marking (and
alternatively UKCA marking) is recognized in the UK, so as long as the
legislation passes prior to Dec 31st, it will simply be a continuation of the
current status.

Hi Charlie,

Yes, it is not a brand new extension as it was mentioned in June this year.
Hope it amends the SI shortly.

Regards,

Scott

Dear Scott & Lauren,

Today, I received the following info to supplement the above development.

"Some news from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy

HMG intends to introduce legislation to continue recognition of the CE marking
and reversed epsilon marking until 31 December 2024 for most goods being placed
on the market or put into service in Great Britain as part of new ministers’
commitment to reduce burdens for industry.

This package of measures is intended to provide businesses with more
flexibility and reduce burdens for businesses. We will use our regulatory
autonomy to help businesses navigate the current global economic and supply
chain challenges whilst prioritising growth.

In parallel, we will also consider how we could reduce costs and burdens
associated with the UK regulatory framework in the longer-term, including
opportunities under the Product Safety Review.

We also intend to introduce legislation to give effect to the measures
previously announced in June 2022 with amended timescales, in line with the
extension. These measures intend to:

• Reduce labelling costs by continuing to allow businesses to affix
